The mission of the Department of cancer biology is :
To train excellent life scientists, at the undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral levels.
To perform integrative life science research that has national and international significance.
To initiate and integrate basic science advances with translational applications to cancer
to build bridges and teams to drive the best ideas in basic and translational cancer biology and developmental therapeutics into accelerating improvements and landmark advances in the prevention, treatment, and cure of cancer.
To clarify the molecular mechanisms involved in the development and progression of human cancers and will also shed light on normal cellular regulatory processes. Underlying all of the basic research is the long-term objective of rapid translation into strategies that will improve the outcomes for patients.
These activities are conducted within the context of the overall mission of the Cairo University, National Cancer Institute as the institution of higher learning and research in the nation.
The vision of the Department of cancer biology is to become a national and international leader in research, teaching, and service related to medical science according to the international quality standards
