Pediatrics Oncology Department
The pediatric oncology department includes outpatients clinic, in patients ward (100 beds), day care ward, intensive care, hepatology and echo-cardiography units. Admitted patients receive their chemotherapy doses and supportive care. The department is supported by a specialized clinical pharmacy unit, responsible for the preparation of doses and checking for drug-drug interaction and dose adjustment, hand in hand with the oncology consultants. The main role for pediatric oncology department besides treating patients is to train new residents and visiting fellows and to offer doctorate and master degrees in addition to the fellowship programs. The department also participates in multidisciplinary research and clinical trials.
