The idea of receiving donations started because of the marked increase in number of patients where the NCI budget became insufficient to cover the cost of treatment in the free department.

After the agreement of the Ministry of Social Affairs and chairman of council of ministers on the idea of receiving donations, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) started to receive cash donations. Then, it received cash donations and donations in the form of medical instruments, equipments and drugs according to the needs of the NCI and abilities of donors

 The donations are used  in
Buying drugs used in treatment of patients
Buying blood and platelets of deficient blood groups
Buying Medical equipments
Buying Medical instruments
Buying Medical prosthesis
Offering Cash donations for the patients

And because of the progressive increase in the number of patients , the NCI is in continuous need for cash money which can not be provided without donations.

Also, NCI receives direct donations and donations in the form of drugs, medical instruments equipments according to different situations. 

NCI receives donations daily from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm except on Fridays and official feasts. In the holydays of Ramadan donations are received till 9.00 pm in winter and till 11.00 pm in summer.

Banks receive donations all over the year.
